Developing the Intercultural Competence of Algerian University Students through Virtual Intercultural Exchanges

Virtual milieus are becoming a setting for great deal of intercultural contact. Learners engaged in virtual exchanges likely to encounter users from different nationalities who bring with them their culturally-grounded behaviors, beliefs and expectations as what is most appropriate interactions. Against this background, learners need specific skills, attitudes knowledge establish working relationships collaborate distant partners, namely competence. The present paper explores the effectiveness relevance participating develop Algerian University learners’ competence(or lack thereof). particular significance study lies shedding light on importance scaling up become an expected activity Higher education. We opted quasi-experimental design research strategy study. Data were gathered attitudinal surveys administered 38 students enrolled at department English language Abou Bakr Belkaid University, Algeria. Participants not selected randomly.
